The IVR is actively promoting and stimulating the harmonization and unification of inland navigation law and liability at a pan-European level. The association organizes i.a. colloquia to promote the implementation of international conventions and recommendations of international conditions and transport documents.
Thanks to the specialist know-how and extensive experience IVR is able to maintain a database of publications on relevant international conventions and decisions with respect to the international conventions CMNI and CLNI. In addition IVR has developed CLNI guidelines on how to transpose the CLNI into national law. The database of publications and guidelines the association provides its members a unique service that makes it possible to carry out their own work efficiently and effectively.
